Valerie Mahar

Valerie is the Market Director for Eastern Europe for Fluence, a Siemens and AES company, and part of the founding Fluence team. Prior to the creation of the joint venture in January 2018, Valerie worked for AES Energy Storage executing storage project agreements with large-scale utility customers in the US and Latin America. She helped secure the award and agreement for the largest grid-scale energy storage project in the world (100MW in California) in 2017, and opened the door to the first R&D project for battery-based energy storage in Brazil.

Valerie has a Master’s of Business Administration from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, and a Bachelor of International Development from the American University in Washington DC.
